Two crew members in hard hats on the deck of a working vessel

We are the people who get the call.

NPT Solutions is a maritime technology company built by engineers who have spent their careers making systems work in the places where systems do not want to work.

This company started as a complaint.

Across two decades in maritime IT, the same thing kept repeating.

The vendor sells the vessel a network. The network is designed for an office. It goes on board, and it half works. Nobody comes back to look at it, because the vessel is never in the right place at the right time. The crew work around it. Two years later, the connection drops mid-transaction, or a surveyor asks for a cyber asset inventory, and the whole thing has to be unpicked.

The problem is almost never the technology. It is that nobody with the right skills was ever willing to be there: to survey properly, to install properly, and to still be there when it needed fixing.

So we built a company that will be there. Including, when it has to be, on board and underway.

How we work

Four things we hold to.

We plan before we build.

Design is the cheapest part of a network, and the part that decides everything else. We survey, measure and model before anyone touches a cable.

We tell you the truth about what we can deliver.

We have people in Singapore and Denmark. There, we can get an engineer to you next day. Elsewhere, we give you an honest mobilisation time instead of a service level we would have to break.

We say no.

We do not touch type-approved navigation equipment. We do not build safety-critical autonomy. We do not sell AI to a company whose real problem is a messy database. Vendors who claim everything get trusted with nothing.

We finish the job.

If it needs sea time, we sail. If it needs a return visit, we come back. If we got it wrong, we fix it at our cost.

Senior engineers. No account managers.

We are deliberately small, and we intend to stay that way.

Our engineers have spent their careers in maritime and industrial IT: vessel networks, onboard systems, industrial control equipment, and the specific discipline of keeping technology alive on a ship in commercial service. Between them they hold more than two decades of sea-going and shore-side experience.

They are comfortable in an engine room, a rack room and a class survey. They are prepared to spend a week at sea to do a job properly.

What that means for you:

  • The person who designs your network is the person who installs it.

Nothing is handed over to a delivery team who were not in the room.

  • You will never be routed to an account manager.

When you call, you get an engineer.

  • We take on what we can do well.

We would rather turn work away than staff it badly.

Singapore, Europe, and wherever your vessel is.

NPT Solutions is registered in Singapore, at the centre of world shipping, and a short flight from most of the fleets we serve. We also have engineers based in Denmark, covering Europe.

Headquarters

Singapore

Registered office and Asia operations. Next-business-day attendance, also covering Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.

European operations

Denmark

Engineers covering Europe. Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and southern Sweden next day by car; the rest of Europe by plane.

Between those two, we can be alongside next day. Beyond them, we mobilise to wherever the vessel calls, and in the meantime, most problems are solved remotely, which is the only fix that arrives in time for a ship at sea.

We are not only a services company.

We develop our own maritime software, which is unusual for a company that also installs networks, and it is the reason we are good at both. Building software that has to survive on a vessel with no connection teaches you exactly why vessel infrastructure fails. It is why we design offline-first, why we take backups seriously, and why we are sceptical of any product that assumes the link will be there.

Clearveo is our digital signage that works offline, for vessels, transport and venues.
